Smith Micro Software Announces Agreement With Telecom New Zealand, Further Expanding Its Global Footprint In The Asia Pacific Region

MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS, BARCELONA, SPAIN - Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI), a leading developer and marketer of software solutions and services for the mobility market, today announced the expansion of its global footprint through an agreement with Telecom New Zealand, the largest telecommunications service provider in New Zealand. Under the terms of the deal, the Smith Micro Software QuickLink Mobile® connection manager will power Telecom's complete line of modem devices designed for PCs and Netbooks. QuickLink Mobile offers emerging wireless service providers a quick deployment solution with a focused feature set for their subscribers' needs while they market under their mobile brand.

QuickLink Mobile provides a seamless user experience by automatically connecting and authenticating a user network, minimizing infrastructure upgrade costs and maximizing revenue opportunities for wireless service providers. A key feature of QuickLink Mobile is the inclusion of free banner ad space, which allows a service provider to market its products and services to users each time the connection manager is opened and built in advertising space can also provide Telecom New Zealand cross-sell opportunities to increase ARPU.

Providing single mode connection management to 3G GSM networks and WiFi, QuickLink Mobile will enable Telecom New Zealand to offer a robust connectivity experience to its subscribers and enterprise customers. Telecom New Zealand-branded, the solution will deliver numerous benefits, including greater customer satisfaction, reduced customer support costs, and effortless software installation and setup by automatically configuring mobile devices to access different types of wireless networks.
