ALISO VIEJO, CA - Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI), a leading developer and marketer of mobility solutions and services for the wireless market, today announced that COMSTAR - United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS JSC, LSE: CMST), a major operator of integrated telecommunications services in Russia and the CIS, has selected the company's connection management software to enable seamless data connectivity across multiple mobility devices and wireless networks for its entire subscriber base.

Through this agreement, Smith Micro Software will deploy its QuickLink Mobile multi-mode connection manager to support WiMAX and WiFi network access for COMSTAR-UTS's subscribers across a wide variety of mobile devices, PC cards, USB modems and embedded modems in laptops. QuickLink Mobile ensures greater customer satisfaction and reduced customer support costs by automatically detecting what type of subscriber device is accessing COMSTAR-UTS's network and facilitating that access through a standard, easy-to-use interface. QuickLink Mobile also offers a highly secure network connection to protect subscribers' vital files stored on the PC.
