ALISO VIEJO, CA - Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI), a company that markets and develops a wide range of software products and services for the wireless market, announced its membership in the Wi-Fi Alliance. A global nonprofit organization, the Wi-Fi Alliance was formed in 1999 to certify interoperability of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) products based on IEEE 802 specifications. It is also the organization responsible for creating the "Wi-Fi®" brand and the "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED®" program.
"In becoming a member of the Wi-Fi Alliance, Smith Micro joins more than 250 companies from around the globe who are committed to delivering interoperable Wi-Fi solutions and ensuring a positive user experience through our Wi-Fi CERTIFIED programs," said Wi-Fi Alliance Managing Director Frank Hanzlik. "We are pleased to have them become a part of the organization."
Today, Smith Micro's QuickLink® Mobile Enterprise solution supports the broadest possible range of wireless air interfaces, including nearly 200 carriers worldwide, and offers highly competitive Wireless Wide-Area Network (WWAN) and Wi-Fi security capabilities. Through almost any type of wireless device-PC cards, embedded devices or handsets-this flagship Smith Micro product enables mobile workers to stay securely and conveniently connected. Mobile worker productivity is boosted and IT managers can enjoy greater peace of mind. QuickLink Mobile Enterprise is highly customizable, very easy to deploy, and is compatible with Wi-Fi CERTIFIED® user devices, Access Points (APs) and industry-standard RADIUS Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) servers such as Cisco ACS, Microsoft IAS, FreeRADIUS Interlink and our QuickLink Server.
Smith Micro develops innovative communications software for the wireless industry. Its leading-edge products simplify communications access over both WWANs and WLANs, and its compression technology, StuffIt Wireless, is on its way to establishing a new industry standard.
