Using conexs.com, Consumers May Reach a Customer Service Representative via a Live Internet Audio Connection by Simply Clicking a Button on the Site
Aliso Viejo, CA - The Internet Solutions Division of Smith Micro Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMSI), a developer and marketer of a wide range of software and service solutions for the Internet market, today announced an agreement to provide comprehensive integration services and software for a new online real estate initiative being launched this spring by Mortgage Capital Resource (MCR) of Riverside, California.
The project involves building the infrastructure for a special service to be offered by HomezipR.com, a spinoff of MCR's Internet-based mortgage banking operation. The service will create value-added web sites for individual real estate agents, including mortgage calculators, loan information and the ability to apply for mortgage loans directly from an agent's site.
Smith Micro's Internet Solutions Division is building the system in collaboration with Masar-Johnston Advertising & Design of San Diego. Masar-Johnston is developing the page design for the realtor web sites and the basic site flow, while Smith Micro is providing the technical expertise to implement Masar-Johnston's vision and HomezipR.com's functionality needs.
"Masar-Johnston sold us on their creativity and their ability to translate our requirements into an attractive Internet product, and they sealed the deal by bringing Smith Micro on board to handle the technical end of the project," said Ken Ketner, Chairman of HomezipR.com. "Having both firms on our team gives us the strongest possible support in getting our project to market quickly."
Smith Micro's Internet Solutions Division will automate the web site design process to enable realtors to enter or update their business information through a simple form. Smith Micro will also engineer and host the system to permit a large number of realtor web sites to be hosted on a single server, establish a sophisticated reporting system permitting HomezipR.com to capture demographic data on site visitors and loan applicants, and supply other back-end functions.
Individual realtor sites will also be enabled with Smith Micro's conexs.com, a real-time Internet communications solution that will allow consumers to reach a customer service representative via a live audio connection simply by clicking a button on a site. conexs.com is the only solution of its kind that can be accessed by consumers using either PC or Macintosh workstations.
"Mortgage Capital Resource is one of the largest private mortgage companies in the country, and Smith Micro's participation was a key factor in our winning this contract," said John Masar, President of Masar-Johnston. "Smith Micro not only agreed to handle technical responsibilities, but they also assisted us in drafting the proposal and dealing directly with the customer. This kind of cooperation is becoming increasingly important in servicing dot-coms today."
"The complexity of this project gives us an ideal opportunity to showcase special technologies like our conexs.com solution as well as our integration capabilities," said Chris Lippincott, General Manager of the Internet Solutions Division of Smith Micro Software. "Working with Masar-Johnston is an added benefit because marrying our technical know-how with their creative vision is going to produce the best possible product for the client."
