Tim serves as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to assuming his current role beginning April 2026, he served from June 2025 through March 2026 as our Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, overseeing core operational and financial responsibilities, including key strategic initiatives and ongoing transformation efforts. Prior to rejoining Smith Micro, from September 2021 through June 2025, Tim served as Chief Financial Officer of Urgent.ly Inc. (Nasdaq: ULY), a mobile assistance software company focused on roadside assistance. Before joining Urgent.ly, Tim previously served as Smith Micro’s Chief Financial Officer from June 2017 through September 2021. Earlier in his career, he served in various senior positions at Black Box Corporation (at that time a publicly traded company), an IT solutions company, from January 2008 to June 2017, including Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, and Director of Finance. Throughout his career, Tim has participated in complex debt and equity financing arrangements, more than thirty mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and successfully partnered with executive leadership and boards to achieve operational cost alignments and other business objectives. Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Michigan State University.
Bethany M. Braund
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Bethany assumed the role of CFO and Treasurer beginning April 2026. She joined Smith Micro in November 2021 and has served the Company in increasing areas of responsibility, most recently as Senior Director, Financial Reporting, where she has spearheaded all Company SEC reporting obligations, all technical accounting matters in support of numerous financing transactions, all financial audit, internal control, and tax activities, plus many other visible projects within the company. She has provided steady support and leadership to Smith Micro’s preceding CFOs and the executive team over her tenure at the Company. Prior to joining Smith Micro, Bethany served in advancing roles at Ernst & Young, LLP from August 2010 through November 2021 within the assurance service line. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree (summa cum laude) from the College of Charleston, Bethany graduated with a Master of Science in Accountancy degree (magna cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame and is a certified public accountant.
As Chief Product & Revenue Officer at Smith Micro, Anup leads the company’s Product Management and Sales organizations, aligning product strategy, go-to-market execution, and revenue growth across global markets. Prior to joining Smith Micro in 2019, Anup worked in corporate venture capital, managing investments in emerging technology sectors, and earlier held leadership roles in large technology organizations, leading product innovation and commercialization of new solutions at scale. An entrepreneurial leader, he also co-founded two successful startups focused on disruptive mobile platforms. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Pune University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Symbiosis University, and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Charlie joined the Company in 2016 as Vice President, Corporate Development and Investor Relations. Charlie assumed the role of Vice President, Marketing in December 2022 and oversees the Company’s global marketing, digital monetization, public relations and design teams, while continuing to manage corporate development and investor relations activities. He brings more than 26 years of experience working with a large range of technology companies providing investor relations counsel and advising on strategy, financing alternatives, M&A and marketing activities. Prior to joining Smith Micro, Charlie was the Vice President of Finance & Corporate Development at eGain Corporation, and he co-founded The MKR Group, serving as its President, where he managed investor relations, corporate development, and marketing activities for several technology companies with a wide range of market capitalizations. He is well known on Wall Street for having a strong marketing presence throughout many diverse industries. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Iowa State University.
As Smith Micro’s General Counsel, Jen is responsible for the company’s corporate governance, compliance and legal affairs, including contract negotiation, securities compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activity. Prior to joining Smith Micro in 2017, Jen served as General Counsel of Tollgrade Communications, a technology solutions provider in the telecommunications industry. Prior to her service at Tollgrade, Jen began her career at the international law firm, Reed Smith LLP, where her practice was focused on corporate and securities, M&A and financing transactions for a variety of private and public company clients. Jen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University.

As CTO since 1999, Dave continues to shape the company’s technology vision and development across its global software portfolio. with a focus on leading transformative strategies that position the organization at the forefront of connectivity and digital experiences. Through more than three decades at Smith Micro, Dave has guided the evolution of secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for mobile and broadband networks. He holds multiple patents in connectivity technologies and is driving innovation in emerging technologies such as AI, edge computing, and next-generation wireless, ensuring the company remains a leader in shaping the future of digital connectivity. Dave earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
