Contract Gives Thuraya Customers in over 100 Countries Worldwide Mobile Access to the Internet

Aliso Viejo, CA - The Wireless and Broadband Division of Smith Micro Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMSI), a developer and marketer of a wide range of software and service solutions for the wireless market, today announced a deal to build data connectivity accessory kits, which includes a suite of Smith Micro QuickLink® Mobile software applications and a data cable to Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Company for their GSM/GPS satellite phones. These accessory kits will be available for sale by Thuraya retail partners.

The Thuraya kit includes Smith Micro's flagship data connectivity software product known as QuickLink Mobile--the most popular wireless data connectivity solution in the industry--along with QuickLink Mobile's companion products, QuickLink Mobile for Pocket PC, QuickLink Mobile Phonebook and QuickLink Mobile Fax. The kit will also include a means for the consumer to download commercially available GPS software to be used with Thuraya's satellite phones.

QuickLink Mobile offers anytime access to email, file uploads/downloads, web surfing and corporate Intranets without being plugged into a network or landline modem connection. The solution includes installation assistance that automatically detects the mobile phone and carrier and sets up the account in minutes.

QuickLink Mobile for Pocket PC is a software program that wirelessly connects Windows CE-based handheld devices to the Internet through a mobile phone and a data cable. The solution gives Pocket PC users access to email, Web pages and other Internet functions from the road.

QuickLink Mobile Phonebook allows mobile phone users to transfer phonebook information to and from any PC, making additions or edits to personal or business phone lists easier and faster than ever.

QuickLink Fax users have complete inbound and outbound fax capability for the ultimate in mobile worker productivity.

Thuraya provides mobile voice and data services utilizing a dynamic, dual-mode architecture that combines satellite connectivity, including GPS location, and mobile access via existing GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) networks. The company's offering includes a unique home/office docking unit called SATEL that allows the usage of the Thuraya phone in an indoor environment such as home or office. Thuraya's satellite footprint covers a vast region of the world, including Europe, the Middle East, South and Central Asia, North and Central Africa. Maritime coverage is provided in the eastern Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the English Channel and other bodies of water adjacent to areas of land listed above.

"Smith Micro is pleased and excited to continue its relationship with supplying Thuraya our widely accepted QuickLink Mobile data connectivity suite," said William W. Smith Jr., President and CEO of Smith Micro. "Thuraya has shown to be widely successful in building their customer base and we believe they will be able to continue that momentum as they add our other mobile applications for the consumer that will significantly increase their working productivity," continued Mr. Smith.
