Smith Micro Delivers Premium Voicemail-To-Text Service in Spanish to Sprint Subscribers

New CommSuite enhancement provides convenient way to read voicemail messages for Spanish-speaking subscribers

ALISO VIEJO, CA - January 13, 2014 - Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI), a leading provider of wireless and mobility solutions, today announced that its CommSuite® premium services platform now includes Spanish transcriptions in its Voicemail-to-Text service. The new feature has been launched on the Sprint network, allowing subscribers to read Spanish voicemail messages as text within the Sprint Visual Voicemail inbox.

CommSuite is a highly-scalable platform for premium voice and messaging services that allows wireless operators to offer reliable, convenient alternatives to over-the-top (OTT) applications. The English Voicemail-to-Text service has been deployed on the Sprint network since 2010, and now Sprint subscribers can receive messages transcribed into Spanish or English based on the language spoken by the caller. Using this service, subscribers can quickly read and reply to voicemail messages at a concert, in a meeting, at the movies, or anywhere listening is inconvenient.
