Executives from Smith Micro Software, Absolute Software and MobileIron Explore Enterprise Mobile Device Management Technology and Adoption
ALISO VIEJO, CA - Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI), a leading provider of wireless and mobility solutions, today announced that Douglas Louie, senior director of product marketing for enterprise solutions, will represent Smith Micro as a featured panelist in "The Role of Mobile Device Management (MDM) in Customer-Centricity," at Forrester's 2011 Infrastructure & Operations Forum. The panel, moderated by Forrester's Doug Washburn, will also include executives from Absolute Software and MobileIron, and will take place on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 10:15am ET at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, FL.
A recent mobile best practices report from Forrester noted that as firms onboard younger, tech-savvy employees, who have loftier mobility expectations of IT than baby boomers, Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) professionals find themselves supporting an increasingly diverse array of mobile devices, operating systems and applications that conflict with established corporate standards. I&O managers also face heavy pressure to support personal and consumer-grade mobile devices and applications. As a result, firms are struggling to keep pace with a two-fold challenge: mobile device management and mobile security.
In this session, Louie will discuss why I&O professionals must invest in an MDM solution to manage and secure their enterprise mobile workforce. The panel will explore how this technology allows I&O professionals to support multiple platforms and form factors, extend management and security policies to both corporate-liable and employee-owned devices and automate service desk support.

The platform operates as a portal interface and allows companies to enforce specific mobile policies, reduce operational efforts to update device configurations and gain greater awareness and control over their mobile communities.
