Aliso Viejo, CA - The Internet Solutions Division of Smith Micro Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMSI), a developer and marketer of a wide range of software and service solutions for the Internet market, today announced an agreement to build a portal for home buyers and sellers for HomezipR.com of Santa Ana, CA. The site, at http://www.homezipr.com, will offer mortgage loan financing services as well as a Homesavers Club(TM) membership covering a wide range of home-related products and services.
It is the company's intention that the site will enable consumers to search for the most competitive rates on mortgages, home equity loans and refinancing loans, use a variety of built-in calculators to determine monthly payments and compare scenarios, and apply for the loan of their choice online. Users will also be able to purchase insurance, banking services, home appliances, furniture, landscaping and other goods and services directly from the site, using a line of credit issued through HomezipR.com if they wish.
Smith Micro's Internet Solutions Division is developing all back-end functionality for the site, including integrating multiple applications, customizing several financial calculators, and providing shopping cart functionality for the Homesavers Club. The eCommerce functionality will be built with Smith Micro's WebCatalog 4.0, the newest edition of the company's eCommerce and Web publishing platform.
"We awarded this project to Smith Micro because of the range of their expertise as well as their ability to deliver a final product in Internet time," said Ken Ketner, Founder of HomezipR.com. "We gave them only a month to turn around the mortgage portion of our site, and they're on target to meet the deadline. This is an impressive performance that will minimize our time to market and help us stake a claim in the home-buying portal arena."
"The one-stop-home-shopping concept of HomezipR's portal is a fresh idea that requires integration expertise, customization capabilities and substantial engineering know-how in order to get all the components to work together seamlessly," said Chris Lippincott, General Manager of the Internet Solutions Division of Smith Micro Software. "It gives us a good opportunity to demonstrate what we can do and a marquee site to display our work to other customers."
It is anticipated that the mortgage portion of the site will debut this month. The Homesavers Club portion is scheduled to go live in July and be fully operational by early October.
