"We are excited about adding Dan to our management team," said Bill Smith, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO. Dan Sheppard observed: "The Internet has the potential of being the 'great communicator' of the next century. My interest in joining Smith Micro, as it redirects its focus to developing simple, yet powerful, people-to-people Internet software, is to help the company capture important market share from the analog, digital, and cable modem manufacturers as well as from PC manufacturers, from Internet Service Providers and in retail outlets around the world."
