LwM2M – LightweightM2M
The Lightweight Machine to Machine (“LwM2M”) communications protocol has been defined by the Device Management Working Group at the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA). LwM2M is a secure, efficient and deployable client-server protocol for managing resource constrained devices on a variety of networks. The protocol, which was ratified by OMA on February, 15 2017, will help the industry accelerate the promise and potential of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Hotspot 2.0, chartered by the Wi-Fi Alliance, is an industry-wide solution to streamline network access in hotspots and eliminate the need for users to find and authenticate to a network each time they connect. The Hotspot 2.0 specification defines access security, seamless authentication, efficient discovery before connect, as well as automatic credential provisioning and policy for accessing and roaming.

ANDSF - Access Network Discovery and Selection Function
The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) ANDSF specification defines and recommends interoperable policies and rule parameters to enable mobile devices to discover, connect, and route traffic over 3GPP and non-3GPP networks. This standard provides an opportunity for 3GPP and non-3GPP wireless and wired line service providers to facilitate a unifying approach for seamless authentications and access roaming in a heterogeneous network environment.

MBIM – Mobile Broadband Interface Model
The USB Implementers Forum, Inc. (USB-IF) MBIM specification is a protocol by which USB hosts and Mobile Broadband devices can efficiently exchange control commands and data frames. It was developed as the networking solution for USB-based mobile broadband devices, as well as embedded modems.
