For Android, the OMC porting layer components are packaged as an Android APK. The APK is easily customized for specific vendor and service provider requirements, so the solution can be delivered quickly and integrated more simply using well documented APIs.

Mobile Device Management

Implement the complete OMA DM specification including the FUMO (Firmware Update Management Object) enabler for the delivery and management of firmware update packages. Support downloading firmware by both in-session and alternate DL download methods.

Unlike mobile networks, WiMAX does not utilize SMS for messaging to the device, so alternate mechanisms are required for the initial bootstrapping of the WiMAX device and ongoing notifications that a device management action is pending. For WiMAX, the OMC includes:
