A high-performance, scalable and extensible platform, the DM Suite enhances mobility by ensuring mobile devices work well with all available services and applications. The DM Suite provides the ability to consistently setup, support, and secure devices with ease. A self-care portal extends customization and device control directly to end-users. Service providers and enterprises are rewarded with agile and efficient device control while individuals enjoy customized service and device configuration.
Activate, Configure, and Provision New Devices Automatically
Ensure the best customer experience right out of the box with automated rollout of dynamic services and applications.
Manage Mobile Applications
Deploy and manage applications and other software components across mobile devices.
Retrieve inventories of installed mobile applications, push updates across all applications and devices, and deactivate or remove any obsolete applications.
Configure and enforce settings and policies for applications that are compatible with Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA DM).
Secure Devices and Sensitive Data
Secure devices and sensitive information:
- Find it - Locate misplaced or lost devices.
- Lock it - Secure it so nobody can access sensitive data. A misplaced device may be locked until it's found.
- Wipe it - Remove all personal and corporate data from the device and memory card.
Ensure compliance to corporate standards with consistent deployment of applications, settings and policies. Control device capabilities and give enterprises and customers an easy way to disable/enable device capabilities such as camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Personalize the Customer Experience
Customize user interface elements such as ringtones, wallpapers and menus, based on demographics and user preferences. Add branding with startup logos and text to customize devices for enterprises, MVNOs and other service channels.
Diagnose Problems
Quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems. Retrieve mobile status, configuration, and operational information directly from the device. Increase the visibility of common service and device problems with comprehensive device management activity history.
Update Firmware
Remotely update device firmware to add new capabilities and resolve problems efficiently and reliably, without requiring the customer to take the device to a service center. Manage the entire lifecycle of update packages and schedule update campaigns to maintain and optimize mobile devices.
Offer a Customer Self-Care Web Portal
Offer customers a great way to customize and manage their own mobile experience with Smith Micro's customer self-care portal. By configuring, diagnosing, and customizing and their own devices through an easy-to-use self-care website, customers have greater control of their mobile experience without the restrictions of cumbersome, device-based interfaces.
Configure the customer self-care portal to offer a range of mobile device management functions to suit your requirements. Simply allow customers to configure new services on their devices, or extend more advanced device management functions to provision and manage content and applications, manage email accounts, diagnose problems, and locate or secure devices if lost or stolen.
Manage GSM and WiMAX Devices
Support device management operation on GSM and WiMAX networks. Remove the complexity of configuring highly flexible and dynamic service offerings. The DM Suite automates activation, configuration of bundled services and provisioning of applications the instant a new device is detected on the network so customers can begin using their devices right away.
Automate Custom Device Activation Workflows
Deliver a "Click and Go" experience with dynamic wizards that step customers through over-the-air activation. Simplified activation supports multiple distribution channels and the flexible DM Suite platform is easily integrated with service systems and support websites.
WiMAX Network Integration
Unlike mobile networks, WiMAX does not utilize SMS for messaging to the device, so alternate mechanisms are required for the initial bootstrapping of the WiMAX device and ongoing notifications that a device management action is pending. The WiMAX Bootstrap Server (WiB Server) and integration with the AAA server enables the WiMAX device to connect to the server and establish a device management session over IP.
