Mobile Hotspot Usage Growing Despite Concerns
Most users have tried the service and want more control
A recent survey of mobile hotspot usage patterns among U.S. consumers has uncovered some interesting results:
- 71% have used a dedicate hotspot device, smartphone hotspot or both to connect Wi-Fi devices to the internet
- 62% of working professionals use their employee sponsored smartphones and hotspots for recreational purposes
- Greater than 90% want advanced features such as: Self-Care Diagnostics, the ability to Track Data Usage Per Connected Device, and enable Data Controls
The survey, conducted by uSamp on behalf of Smith Micro, polled more than 700 consumers across the US regarding their mobile hotspot usage patterns and preferences.
