Survey Results: Enterprise Customers Want a More Secure Hotspot
Employees using personal mobile hotspots poses network security risks
A recent survey of enterprise mobile hotspot usage among U.S. companies has uncovered some interesting results:
- 93% of companies surveyed are responsible for all or part of employee data plans
- 75% said employees are using a dedicated hotspot device, smartphone hotspot or both to connect Wi-Fi devices to the internet
- 50% of IT Managers feel they don’t have adequate control over employee hotspots
- 46% cited an increase in technical support calls due to the introduction of mobile hotspots into their companies
The survey polled more than 250 enterprise IT managers across the US regarding their employees mobile hotspot usage and enterprise policies.
