Wireless Expert to Discuss Connectivity and Security Applications Designed for the Enterprise Mobile Workforce

(NASDAQ: SMSI), a leading developer and marketer of innovative software solutions and services for the wireless market today announced that the company's Vice President and General Manager of Connectivity and Security, Tom Matthews, will lead a discussion on security applications designed for the enterprise mobile workforce in a session called "Key Considerations for Securing a Mobile Data Application" at this year's Mobile Business Expo 2007 held October 22-25, 2007 in New York City, New York.
The "Key Considerations for Securing a Mobile Data Application" session will take place as part of the Market Leaders Track on Thursday, October 25, 2007 and will be held at 12:10 pm ET in the Mobile Business Expo Theatre.
Matthews will highlight five key considerations for securing a mobile data application: persistent and secure connection, seamless roaming across multiple networks, total security from any access point, productivity improvements, and mobile user experience. Matthews will also field questions in an interactive question-and-answer session following the presentation.
Tom Matthews is a twenty-three year veteran of the technology and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Smith Micro Software, Matthews was the President and CEO of Ecutel Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Mobile VPN and wireless security software. He also has served successfully in various leading positions such as President and CEO of Inciscent, where he created and launched "SkyBox Mail," the first wireless e-mail application to allow users to open and view file attachments from popular software programs on a handheld mobile device. Matthews also served as Senior Vice President of Corporate and Business Development and President at Metrocall.net where he was responsible for corporate strategy, M&A, operations, sales and marketing.
