Wavecom Adds Value To Its Remote Device Management Services Through Integration Of Smith Micro's Insignia Device Management Technology

ALISO VIEJO, CA - Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI), a leading developer and marketer of innovative software solutions and services for the wireless market, today announced that Wavecom S.A. (NASDAQ:WVCM), a leader in embedded industrial wireless communications solutions, has selected Smith Micro's Insignia Mobile Device Management technology to enhance its Remote Device Management (RDM) services.

"We are very pleased that Wavecom, a world leader in wireless machine-to-machine solutions, has selected the Smith Micro Insignia Mobile Device Management technology for use with their new machine-to-machine device management service offering," said Mark McMillan Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Device Management. "This partnership adds a strategic component to Smith Micro's Insignia device management software portfolio that is designed to accelerate the device manufacturers' ability to manage their mobility infrastructure in a reliable, secure and cost-effective way."

"This licensing agreement with Insignia, now Smith Micro, gives us a strong base from which to build machine-to-machine applications using wireless technology that has been extensively proven in handsets," said Philippe Guillemette, CTO of Wavecom. He added, "This exclusive license greatly enhances Wavecom's portfolio of technology ownership in the critical area of remote device management."

Smith Micro's Insignia Digital Management Suite is the server-based component of the Insignia mobile device management platform, and its Open Management Client solution, including both the Device Management Client and the Firmware-Over-The-Air (FOTA) Update Agent that will be licensed and integrated into Wavecom's Remote Device Management services (RDM) that allow their customers to easily and cost-effectively monitor and update products in the field.
