Smith Micro's Consumer Group Launches Morpheus Photo Animation Suite into Retail Market

Oct 05, 2006
Company Extends Its Consumer Product Line by Entering Into Exclusive Publishing Deal with Morpheus Software

ALISO VIEJO, CA - Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI) today announced it has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Morpheus Software, LLC., a leading publisher of digital photo animation software. The company's pioneering product, known as Morpheus Photo Animation Suite™, contains three easy-to-use, creative photo animation products - Morpher, Warper and Mixer. These products enable users to morph, distort, exaggerate, or blend portions of multiple images into a single image.

"Although morphing technology has been around for over a decade, complicated applications and a steep learning curve have kept it out of reach from the everyday user...until now," said David Polzine, Product Manager at Smith Micro Software, "Adding flash animation to sites using Morpheus software can help attract attention to online social networking communities such as MySpace, Match.com and even online photo and video communities such as YouTube and Flickr."

Morpheus Software offers three main products: Morpheus Photo Morpher™ is a morphing application that transforms one person or object into another right before your eyes. Morpheus Photo Warper™ is a distortion application that warps and exaggerates portions of photos such as body parts. Morpheus Photo Mixer™ is a compositing application that mixes up faces and body parts between two photos. The program supports popular file formats for saving your work, including Flash SWF and Animated GIF, as well as a built-in email feature for seamlessly sharing animations with friends and family.

"We are thrilled to work with Smith Micro in bringing our software products into the retail market," said Dan Engel, CEO of Morpheus Software. "Combining our innovative line of products with Smith Micro's strong reputation will create a mutually-beneficial relationship for years to come."

"We are very excited to team up with Morpheus Software. Our aim is to have a strong market presence in the photo and digital imaging markets," said Jonathan Kahn, Senior Vice President at Smith Micro. "Our partnership with Morpheus Software compliments our growing line of photo imaging and compression technology which includes StuffIt Image, StuffIt Deluxe, Active Image and our personal photo software product line."
