Establishes an Agreement for Nokia to Utilize Smith Micro's QuickLink Mobile with accessory Data Kits for CDMA Phones
ALISO VIEJO, CA - Smith Micro Software Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI), a developer and marketer of a wide range of software for the wireless market, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Nokia. Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Nokia will bundle Smith Micro's QuickLink® Mobile data connectivity software with accessory data kits available for many of Nokia's most current CDMA handsets in the United States and abroad.
QuickLink Mobile is the most popular data connectivity solution in the wireless industry and offers a number of convenient features to enhance productivity and simplify Internet use from the field. Among the product's most valuable advantages is a powerful installation wizard that lets users load the software and configure the wireless hookup in minutes by auto-detecting the type of mobile phone and configuring the computer system appropriately. This gives the consumer a great out of box experience immediately. Other notable features of QuickLink Mobile include a Digital Dashboard that not only displays battery levels and signal strength but also registers all Internet calls, allowing the customer to manage their connection.
"We're extremely pleased by Nokia's decision to offer QuickLink Mobile," said William W. Smith, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Smith Micro. "Being able to now call the largest handset manufacturer in the world a customer is yet another testament to the unique value we bring to the market-place with our exciting technology and services."
