QuickLink® Mobile for Windows
Smith Micro will be demonstrating a new version of QuickLink Mobile, the most popular data connectivity solution in the industry. In addition to adding support for new handsets and PC cards, QuickLink Mobile will ship with a new and improved user interface to help the customer manage their multiple connection options.
Utilizing a PC modem Card, or a USB or serial port on your computer with a mobile data cable connected to your mobile pone, or a IrDA or Bluetooth connection, QuickLink Mobile quickly connects your computer to the Web or your email. QuickLink Mobile will also work with a PC wireless modem card plugged into a notebook. QuickLink Mobile automatically sets up your connectivity device with an easy-to-use wizard program and configures it on your notebook.
It offers anytime access to email, file uploads/downloads, web surfing and corporate intranets without being plugged in a network or modem line connection.
The Windows version of QuickLink Mobile supports any CDMA, 1xRTT, EV-DO, GSM, GPRS or EDGE network, and hotspot Wi-Fi technologies. It also supports wireless modem PC Cards, 802.11 PC cards, serial and USB cables, IrDA and Bluetooth connections.
QuickLink® Mobile for Mac
Smith Micro is showing its latest version of QuickLink Mobile for Mac OS X, introducing support for high-speed EDGE networks offered by several leading wireless carriers on the supported Sony Ericsson GC82 wireless PC card and EDGE compatible handsets. EDGE, a third generation wide area technology supports throughput speeds of 100-130 kilobits per second with bursts up to 200 kilobits per second in many markets today.
Smith Micro is continuing its leadership momentum in the mobile market by adding cutting-edge Wi-Fi technology to QuickLink Mobile for Mac.
Smith Micro's QuickLink Mobile for Mac supports CDMA, 1xRTT, GSM, GPRS, as well as EDGE high-speed data networks Mac users can surf the Internet, check email or access their corporate Intranets on the enhanced high speed networks. Like the Windows version, QuickLink Mobile for Mac operates with most popular data wireless data networks. This version for the Mac also supports Bluetooth connections.
Like the Windows version, the Mac version of QuickLink Mobile has included additional support of PC Card wireless modems and new handsets.
QuickLink® Mobile Phonebook
Also showing at CTIA will be QuickLink Mobile Phonebook. Mobile phone users no longer have to use their mobile phone keypad to laboriously update their phone contact list. Simply download the list to any desktop PC or notebook via the phone-to-PC connector cable, make the necessary list changes, then upload the list back to the mobile phone. QuickLink Mobile Phonebook also supports Outlook, Outlook Express, ACT, Goldmine or any other .csv format text file, enabling users to transfer contact database information from PCs to a mobile phone.
QuickLink Mobile Phonebook lets mobile phone users add, edit, delete, sort and move entries using a simple drag-and-drop PC user interface.
QuickLink Mobile Phonebook is a perfect way to back up phone list information for safekeeping, or to distribute key customer or personal lists via email or company network. All major Microsoft Windows operating systems are supported including Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.
